Bo is part of JapKob, Japanese Kobudo, including a scroll in the Kukishinden
- it also contains the foundations for the later study of Yari, Naginata, Bisento
- it is primary weapon in Ok Kob, Okinawan Ryukyu Kobudo, along with Tonfa, Kama, Sai and Nuncha
