Wednesday 30 September

We went over lock flows with everyone getting the chance to perfect the hiji sequence of five elbow locks. We then looked at some wristlocks.

We then went into Thai structure and examined some drills using open hand, boxing focus pads and Thai pads.

There was the usual sparring.

There was chi sao for those on chi sao.

There was stick work for those working on stix - krabi, sinawalli and serrada.

We will aim to get everyone familiar with lock flows, the 5 hiji and 5 tebuki so when we say "let's do lock flow" everybody can.

We're on the learning curve for chi sao now, and aim to get everybody rolling then sparring in chi sao by XMas when Ren returns.

Stix - I'll be specialising stick people through the various elements and then cross training them so we get maximum skill uptake in the shortest possible time without leaving any gaps in anyone's knowledge.

Those who don't have stix are advised to buy them soon and get into the stick element of class.

Impact - we'll do more complex drills with the pads for the main structures:
SC - Boxing - Kickboxing - Thai

We'll start seeing these new skills come out in sparring.

Members are encouraged to invest in FC gear to allow freeplay in the harder structures.
