Though we don't use the TKD format for drilling or sparring, it would be a version of Savate Kick Only anyway, it is interesting to watch their clips
TKD is based on Shotokan
they use the same basic pads
add the headgear as they expect to take heavy head kicks
their defence against head kicks is bad

the body armour is called a Hogu, worn due to taking heavy body kicks
