As we wrap up the year and plan for the next year, we end up updating a lot of threads

Most of the information posted is "Old" as well as "new" - there are no new techniques, concepts, no new schools we scource from, just new ways of listing and approaching them

This is why STMA evolves year by year

These two threads were posted in August and September 2009, when we had established the Group over the first few months, had our first summer Camp, and started properly populating the Boards - these were not added to, although the 7 dimensions was edited in 2019, a decade after it's posting - the information is basic and as relevant going into 2023, our 15th year, as it was in our first year

The Aiki Jutsu thread - new this year

The original Locks thread, started in 2009, which was added to in 2010 and 2011, then again this year 2022

Judo Nage throws - started in 2009, added to in 2020 and 2022

Judo Shime chokes - started in 2009, added to in 2018 and 2022

Judo pins - posted in 2009, revision post in 2020

The RDD and FSD thread - started in 2014, added to in 2015 then in 2022

The JJ Advanced Concepts - thread developed in 2021 and 2022 - lists the 32 Principles

The Advanced JJ series - new for 2022 - lists the 240 JJ lessons in four levels

So you can see how some material was there from the start, some added later, some revised and added to

Whereas we had the Judo pins and chokes posted in 2009, we never added the list of locks at that time, only posting it this year - the list has always existed, we just did not focus our attention on the Kodakan approach to listing and practicing locks that way, we focussed on the Jiu Jitsu method of working them from position including Mount, Guard and Side Mount

Similar in Aiki Jutsu, we have always used the "first level" techniques, and we have sourced the Goshin, we just never made a post of the source of Aikijutsu until now

Going forward in our practice, following on form the work we have done sourcing the Ninpo scrolls over the last three years, it is the right time, in 2023, to have full lists for the source material

Kempo/Kenpo
Karate
Judo
Aiki
Gracie

as well as a better understanding, this will now give clarity rather than confusion

Keeping in mind the JKD principle

Absorb what is useful - Discard what is useless

which we have gone by since day one, it will help to see the practices and techniques from certain schools and systems that we do not use - this has been discussed and posted before and includes

Armour sparring in Kendo and even Kali
Judo randori sparring
Separately developing the throws of Wrestling
Karate Kata

This will help you understand techniques or drills such as "this is in Muay Thai but we don't use it" or "this is in Gracie JJ but we don't use it" "this throw is in Judo but we don't use it", etc
