Outdoor venue

progressive "menu" for this session so we cover a wider range of STMA and accounting for the fact we should have a range of grades from red belt to black belt.

EVERYONE who attends will benefit from this extra training.

We are going to seemlessly flow standing kempo to CRA to the ground to newaza.

You all know kempo on the grass is the same as the wood apart from the feel of the surface.

The difference is that with Kempo techniques that involve a takedown, such as Dance Of Death, we can go right to the floor.

I will again instruct the Kaiten rolling techniques on grass.
Keep in mind it is worth practicing kaiten on the wood if you want it to work on the pavement.
Kaiten rolling is not the same as an ukemi breakfall.

With CRA lox we don't go to the floor on the wood.
On the grass we can.
So we will look at taking the lox you know to their ultimate conclusion, and look at the use of proper projection.

Any members who want to, and feel comfortable with their breakfalls, will have the chance to throw each other on the grass.
This is entirely optional.

Once down there we will look further into newaza, ground techniques, and some concepts and flows.

As we are def going to the ground we need to dress appropriately.
If you wear your white gi jacket it will be stained green.
If it is cold the ground will be hard.
If it is wet the ground will be, well, wet, but also muddy.

This is nothing that rugby players and TA members don't go through on any Sunday morning -
so wear sports wear or army surplus, or anything you can put straight in the wash.

Gloves are recommended as it should be cold.

The environmental element is as much a part of the training as anything else we do on Grass Day.
Expect to get cold, wet and muddy. It's a step closer to Reality.

Keeping it REAL!
