We are going into the next phase for Winter 2011/2012.

Boxing:

We will practice the boxing drills at the end of this thread, as well as the boxing sets 1, 2 and 3 as listed on pads. At this time we still drill as 2 sets, a and b, and are working on flowing them together better.

We will start doing box sparring again, the "hands only" phase of kb.

Savate:

For savate impact we are currently adding fouettes to the boxing focus pad work.

In drilling we use the universal block from kempo against chasse thrust and fouette round kicks to link padwork to sparring.

We have refined the savate ABC list:

which can be found at the bottom of this thread.
There are now 10 enchainments, following the theme in kempo of 10 kihon and 10 MKs.
There are a further 4 ABCs which are based in kick defences.
We then move on to the more advanced drills which start with boxing defence against punches, parry and slip, to proceed into savate.

Although I have listed kicks to use, once the defences made and the first kick landed, any savate ABC can be used if appropriate.

Eventually, members will use savate enchainments the same way as Kempo MKs, as a Master Key movement from which all techniques can be developed spontaneously.

Kempo:

Members will learn over time the 10 Kihon fundamentals and the 10 MK Master Key moves:

Each session will include a kihon or MK and then one of the 150 Kempo sets so the link is understood.

We are continually expanding the Fave list - at the moment it stands at 15.

We have also been working our way through the Storm list of stick defences - this fills the ground between serrada in kali single stick, which includes disarms and lox

Jujutsu:

We continue to work the standing phase of Jujutsu regularly:
lox and chokes
this all flows in with kali dumog and the HKE phase

groundbud:
we have been doing regular groundbud drill which is based on:
escape the mount
pass the guard
on the wood

we have started exploring some ground finishing techniques.
Check the list here:

kneepads:
if members want kneepads for groundbud we can order them.
Although we are looking at working the wood to make our ground game realistic for the street, continuous drilling can hurt or harm the knees, so the use of kneepads is acceptable.

Wing Chun

This is mainly chi sao and we are building up a repertoire of moves that members can drill on each other.

Chi sao sparring is done each week and fills he ground between kb range and grappling, as well as giving you the sensitivity to make your lox functional.

The "chum kil" phase of WC is similar to kempo - block the punch or kick and go from there, but deliberately works at the close range.

And of course jik chun choy chain punch comes from WC, even if we do it with the footwork from Krabi - or the footwork from track, the 100 metres sprint!

Kali:
sinawalli double stick
serrada single stick
kadena de mano knife

the next phase for kali will be largo mano - but we are in no rush to get to that.
