if you can escape the mount, pass the guard, stabilise, and get the americana submission that is all you will ever need
when the opponent is trying to bench press you that is when you use the armbar
if you don't control the mount and get upa'd you need the guard
if you fail at the mount armbar you need the guard
if you can't get a td and mount you need to pull guard
in the guard you need stage 1 to 4 punch defence
once you have this sorted you can work on your guard submissions
