Taijutsu ref:
on Grass Day we used ichimonji kamae stance in kihon happo, but we also made use of hook kamae, the bear posture
the bear, the bear, the marvellous bear
bear stance makes full use of all the power in the human body - look at powelifters getting that bar overhead - it is hoko kamae - look at great apes rearing up to attack
in Form 4 we use the outside block parry and pass in a lot of sets, it links kempo to hubud in many ways - as does the outside guard pass
with an overhead strike, with a lot of weight and power behind the blow, we can use the hook kamae to stabalise and make a powerful kempo response - in the example played tonight we did a double down claw and power uppercut, both using the hoko bear to drive the move
so just as the marvellous bear first appears in kihon happo to make ganseki throw work, it can also be used to defend a throw - we look at more of that later
We also covered serrada stick, knife, hubud series
CRA from hubud, wu sao ref, and wrist grabs
WC NRG and chi sao
some impact, box sets, savate ABC and sparring
next week we will do bokken, possibly largo
link standing guillotine series to guard guillotine
guard submissions to include all four techniques
maybe side mount game of attendance and time allows
we want to cover side mount properly before mat day, as seniors especially will want to make use of side mount in their rolling
