I have also made a post on the 9 schools of Ninjutsu, going into some depth regarding the differences:

reasons for this being

1. I will probably refer to them more in class so helps if you have a reference point

2. In my own training I like to work in a certain school or ryu and specialise and therefore

3. as we have members going into black belt now it is something they could be looking into as their higher training progresses

4. on grass day there is a great opportunity to do some outdoor "ninja training" in it's original environment - this can include the use of trees for developing tools and technique as in Shinden Fudo Ryu, or the onshinjutsu or Togakue ryu
