The swords we use are genuine katana
They are not replicas which are designed just to be ornamental, on a stand in a house. Our swords are meant to be used, folded steel, heavy and solid, and razor sharp
Kenjutsu is broken down into three parts:
Iaijutsu, drawing and sheathing the sword in kata, which includes the suburi exercises
Batto Jutsu, cutting real targets with the sword - for this we use special straw and bamboo targets
Kendo, partner exercises with the bokken, then sparring in armour with the shinai
Also, the swords we have are personal and unique to us
My own sword has gold iko, a slightly longer blade, gold tsuba with Kukkishin battle motif
Rogues sword is an exact copy of The Brides sword from Kill Bill, the Hattori Hanzo sword, with tsuba, saya, and the Lion Dog motif on the blade
Icemans sword has the more square tsuba with Oni motif, the matt not gloss saya
