Everyone should recognise Five Swords and Thundering Hammers for example, but you might not know which technique Twisted Twig is, however if you are purple belt you will have done it and will probably remember it when shown - a brown belt will def remember it, and a black belt will already be proficient at it
Keep in mind that even the Black Belts may not be familiar with the names of all the techniques, and are not required to do so until 4th dan, so there is no rush to learn the names of everything
