jo and boken - the 8 step drills

there are specific drills for each weapon
3 kumi tachi - boken
5 kumi jo
which members can learn after the step drills

karate - 10 step blocking kumite - kumi te
jodan punch
chudan punch
gedan kick

which follow on from weapons
tonfa sits in the middle nicely, for those doing tonfa

karate kumite then moves on
gohon 5 step
sanbon 3 step
kihon ippon one step
jiyu ippon semi free

after this the karate forms the basis for the karate you do in sparring so pads on, then SC drills and sparring

one step the forms the basis for kempo - after the block you do the kempo sequence

as we haven't gone over S3 as a group, we'll keep moving forward with the moves that will be S4 and S5

the idea to have a freeplay kempo - as your partner to attack and respond with a seq eg Five Swords, Thundering Hammers, etc

in CRA, as well as hubud, we take reference from shomen, from wrist grab, and from sleeve or collar grab to move into the lock or pull in for a choke - we'll continue to develop this

in KB we are doing the box and thai sets on box gloves - this means a faster uptake and you are learning good form, and ow to respond, so it's closer to sparring

impact on pads is done separately to develop speed and power
