Kempo:
last session we did Delayed Sword KF as a teaching set
tonight we did Triggered Salute
this move uses Purposeful Compliance - when the shoulder is pushed we turn and launch the Salute palm strike to chin
the attack, the push, triggers the salute, hence the name
this is followed up with the strike to the lead arm then an elbow to the ribs
with Delayed Sword we hit arm, groin, neck
with TS we still hit the arm, but the shuto becomes a teisho salute and the low blow is the elbow
we also change the order from arm, high, low to hi, arm, low
the extension is a second elbow followed by a flashing backfist
end move is a punch to the chin - KO
the second elbow to backfist flash is the Big Hard Number Two from Kali
the Directional Harmony backfist of Kempo
we see this in MK Shielding Hammer
and the variations on Five Swords and MK Thundering Hammers
this hitting of the ribs back and forth is the core principle of Returning Mace MK, which we examined above as a knife drill
The first chin strike is the palm - Salute - Teisho
the last strike is the fudoken - clenched fist - punch
this is like the Double Jab of boxing - the second shot has all the power
if the second jab in boxing/Kickboxing doesn't do the job we follow up with a cross or kick
in savate we do double jab followed by a lo cross gyaku zuki before going into our kick sequence
Using Kempo Jujutsu we turn the chin strike into a lift
the arm drag into a dumog style control
and then a controlled elbow wrench
using the Tesseract example linked in this thread we control the four dimensions
opponent's height - he is taller, cancel his height
turn him to control his width
hold him at angle to control his depth
we also control the 4th dimension, Time, we stop time, stop the next move in his sequence
in pure JJ, at this point, we would do a td, maybe extend to kote gaeshi, or wrap to mushi dori, using stance and body mechanics, ichimonji
the purpose in a Kempo set, Triggered Salute in this case, is to set up the flow of strikes to reach the finishing strike
the final strike of TS is the same as the punch from FS, done to the chin instead of the body
if the strike did fail, you can flow into FS from that point, where you have 3 increasingly lethal throat chops to use
