though we don't directly do European fencing in STMA, it's a background art -
the modern Olympic fencing which has it's roots in Italian Capo Ferro before the modern French style
the Dutch Thibault and Spanish Agrippa and Destriza styles with geometry that influenced FMAs development in Escrima
the French style which is present in La Canne and Savate - use of the cane, as in Largo Mano, and long foot fouette and chas - some styles of savate are more "kick fencing" than "kick boxing" after all
