2015 Grappling - board now archived as sub board of Jujutsu

Next mat day
and some for normal class

Though we view Jujutsu in it's original unbroken form as one art it does help to break it down to it's isolations for intense practice

newaza:
more detailed look at escapes from scarf hold and variations for different situations

JJ tds:
shoot and td
from grapples - choke and guillotine

Judo:
more combat throws

Aiki:
locks and projections to the mat

Kempo:
the tds done as an extension to sets

We did cover some of these last year and also did a lot on grass day

2014 we will cover the phases of newaza on mat days and functionalise on wood and grass

for standing mat we will look at Karate sweeps as well, how the sweeps fit into karate kumite sets

Though mat days, grass days, and wood newaza are irregular, we can cover enough over a year to improve everyone's game

Pretty much all the grappling we do comes from Jujutsu, and even the Judo we use has its roots in Jujutsu

The original posts in the grappling boards were never followed up on and we never used the board as such

Grappling is only ever done on mat day as sparring and that is occasional

There is a thread here for dumog and silat sweeps, though they are done as part of CRA and link from standing JJ

This being said we will archive the Grappling board as a sub board of Jujutsu
