demoed the Ninja To sword in context

Other Ninja weapons tonight were the Shuriken throwing stars and the Shuko hand claws

again I was able to dem techniques and concepts and discuss modern application

Ninjutsu is about concealing your intentions and actions from your opponent - it is almost all indirect whereas most Budo is direct

PIA - Progressive Indirect Attack - is used more in Ninjutsu than any other art - and applies to modern Street fighting

Street Karate:
def against straight and hook punches
front choke
frame guard

Kempo:
only one set but used the shako ken claw, which we've been covering a lot recently, and the uraken backfist - and how they relate to the shuko iron claws, and how even blocking and checking become deadly when the shuko are used

Shuriken:
obviously we don't throw the shuriken round the dojo, but I covered how they are used in historical context - the doko kamae and jumonji kamae launch positions

how ichimonji kamae, from kihon happo, is used in kempo, as a throw ie ganseki, and to launch the shuriken

lesson here, a taijutsu lesson, is that we don't use different stances, movements or "arts" for different phases, ranges and weapons - striking, grappling, weapon either stick or blade, or a projectile weapon, all use the same body mechanics

we are not "mixing Martial Arts" - they were never seperate in the first place
