As well as appropriate top, eg hoodie, have gloves and maybe a hat ready for a Grass session, should conditions require them.

So we focused on KEMPO and KOPPO as planned with some KOSHI, and took the opportunity to take a lot of the techniques to the Ground.

Though we don't go down in Dojo training, training on the Grass, in the Original environment allows us to fully take the waza to their conclusions.

There was a time when no Dojo existed, and all training was done on Grass.

Though members are not used to going down and getting up so much in a session, it is a vital part of both KORYU and GOSHIN training, the ability to be thrown or to fall, to hit the ground safely with being hurt, and to get up instantly.

In a class such as Aikido or Judo, ALL techniques involve being thrown, and you can spend 2 hours doing that over and over.
